1947年秋，上海世界书局出版了朱生豪翻译的《莎士比亚戏剧全集》共27部戏剧，其中无历史剧。本套《莎士比亚戏剧全集》即是这27部经典的重现，除根据约定俗成的译法，将"汉姆莱脱"统一为"哈姆雷特"外，其他人名地名翻译内容皆为1947年版本重现；在编次方面，本套书依照各剧性质和之后的专家意见，将原作内容重新整理，分为六卷，详情见书中《莎士比亚戏剧全集》书目。历时两年勘误整理编校，精益求精，最大程度地还原朱生豪先生的译作全貌。
