The Icebound Land

This boisterous third offering in the Rangers Apprentice series will immediately engage listeners in the lives of Will, a young apprentice ranger, and Evanlyn, a king's daughter. Both are now being held as slaves in a mythical land. At the same time, Halt, a master ranger, and Horace, Will's good friend, are experiencing their own troubles on their journey to rescue the captured duo. Johnny Keating has a perfect voice for this tale--vaguely medieval, capable of multiple accents, and adept at delivering the appropriate inflections and emotions to create the story's vivid personalities. His pacing is brisk, his characters, distinct, and his fluent narration will have the listener completely immersed in the action. A great choice for a family car trip. M.N.
